So we got to celebrate Xmas in a small but exciting way, took in a cooking demonstration at our hotel and watch an amazing Southern Indian dance!
Welcome to our “Cultural Connections” blog. Our family invites you to join us on our experiences and wonders of our trip from NZ to India. This blog is for all our friends, family and amazing people with whom we come in contact with. A huge shout out to the “Hautapu Globe Trotters”, who through their encouragement, have inspired me to start this blog. Their excitement and curiosity is driving this shared experience.

Christmas Day
We drove into the misty mountains of Kerela. We saw the most fascinating buildings, acres and acres of rubber plantations and tea plantations, huge investment in educational buildings such as universities, colleges, schools and noticed the organised roading infrastructure. This is probably the wealthiest areas of our trip so far that we have seen. The people are friendly and kind and smile a lot. Christainity is huge here! They said they may be able to make a visit into a school today for me, but I wonder how this is possible on Boxing Day?
