The excitement and the buzz of our children laying over a large world map on the staffroom floor, saw us laughing, firing questions and injecting a new lease on the day. From uncertainty came a surge of where to next and 'yes we want to be on this journey!' From an unknowing start came innovation, a new concept, and ideas from student's voice, kids hungry to learn it then lead to creating our foyer display. With questions on stars, a suitcase to fill and a map of where our journey was going to take us, Hautapu students then asked if they could skype and meet my relatives before my travels.
